In a letter to a friend, Antoinette wrote “…the minister (Necker) and M. de la F(ayette) take missteps every day. We go along with them, and instead of being satisfied these monsters become more insolent by the moment.” Not exactly how you would talk about someone who you were having a passionate affair with, lmao

But that still didn’t stop people from writing porn about them. In 1791 “The Patriotic Brothel” came out and well here are some quotes:
