You’re allowed to hate your family/members of your family. It doesn’t matter if they birthed you, raised you, whatever the affiliation. At the end of the day, they are people just like everyone else who have the potential to be hateful, rude, abusive, and all around bad.

“Oh but they are/I’m your family [so you have to forgive them/me].”

No.
You don’t have to do anything.
That’s classic manipulation and so many people don’t even realize it.

Anyone can be a horrible person and you’re allowed to cut toxic people from your life.

i still don’t really understand how tumblr ended up being my primary social media. like how did i and everyone i know look at this horribly designed shoddily coded microblogging platform with a user base full of teenagers and which desperately wants you to use it in any way other than the way we use it and think “time to live my online life here for several years”

using tumblr as your main social media platform is like one step above using yahoo answers as your main social media platform

“There’s people who have it worse.”

Ok. Listen.

Of course abuse is worse for some people than to other people.

If you burn your arm. It hurts. Like it really fucking hurts.

B u t.

If you burn your finger, it also hurts. It still really fucking hurts.

They both hurt. The arm seems worse because the surface of the harm is larger compared to the finger, but that doesn’t mean that burning a finger is painless.

If you tell someone: “there is someone, somewhere who burned an arm”.

That won’t fucking heal their finger.

Those situations don’t cancelled each other out.

The thought of someone burning an arm, doesn’t mean someone can’t burn a finger.
