Washington: Martha, why the hell is Hamilton sleeping with his head on your knees?
Martha: He’s my baby. Washington: He’s a grown man and a Continental Army officer. Martha: Shhh, George, you will wake up the baby!Tag: Washington
One of my favorite parts in Hamilton is when Washington says “Hey, I need a favor” and Hamilton instantly goes “YES ok who do you need me to drag I’m there I’ve already got a plan I’ll tell everyone” and Washington is like “No. Please stop talking…” And instead of chilling like Washington CLEARLY WANTED Hamilton immediately went “OMG you’re totally right it’s better for me to just write a bunch of letters about why Jefferson sucks I’m on it” and he literally only shuts up when Washington announces he’s retiring and that’s SO funny to me. Can you imagine Hamilton jumping around George like “Hey. Hey. Who we gonna take down today? Who’s it gonna be?? Let’s go! Let’s do it!!!” While poor George stands there like “Please… Calm down… Please… Stop…. For 30 seconds…” Like honestly it’s a good thing George had so many kids and was used to dealing with overactive children
“I did not lead a revolution against Britain to be back sassed by some pansypant violinist like you…”
If Washington expected relief from Hamilton badgering him for an appointment, he soon learned otherwise. Hamilton was fully prepared to become a pest. In mid-April, he found quarters for himself and Eliza in a brick-and-stone Dutch dwelling at De Peyster’s Point on the east bank of the Hudson, by no coincidence opposite Washington’s headquarters at New Windsor. He even ordered ‘a little boat which two people can manage’ so that he could scoot back and forth on short notice.

ok this is my new favorite alexander hamilton story and I politely request fan art of ham feverishly paddling across the hudson in his little boat screaming “SIR, ENTRUST ME WITH COMMAND” at washington’s window in the middle of the night

Hamilton: If I run and leap at the General, he will most certainly catch me in his arms.
Hamilton: Coming in!
Washington: No! I’m holding coffee! (drops coffee on floor and catches Hamilton)
