I’ve been seeing lots of drawings of Lafayette, so I thought I’d give it a shot and draw the French cinnamon roll too.

all the Hamilton children which I’ve been able to find pictures of (so far)
- Philip (or William, if you feel like it) “aged 20”
- Alexander Jr. (1863, aged 77)
- John Church (by Alfred Thomas Agate, about 1840, aged 48)
- Philip (the second) “aged 78” (1880/1)
One of my favorite parts in Hamilton is when Washington says “Hey, I need a favor” and Hamilton instantly goes “YES ok who do you need me to drag I’m there I’ve already got a plan I’ll tell everyone” and Washington is like “No. Please stop talking…” And instead of chilling like Washington CLEARLY WANTED Hamilton immediately went “OMG you’re totally right it’s better for me to just write a bunch of letters about why Jefferson sucks I’m on it” and he literally only shuts up when Washington announces he’s retiring and that’s SO funny to me. Can you imagine Hamilton jumping around George like “Hey. Hey. Who we gonna take down today? Who’s it gonna be?? Let’s go! Let’s do it!!!” While poor George stands there like “Please… Calm down… Please… Stop…. For 30 seconds…” Like honestly it’s a good thing George had so many kids and was used to dealing with overactive children
‘The deplorable death of my friend Hamilton hurt me deeply,’ he [Lafayette] wrote Jefferson for solace. ‘I am sure that, regardless of the differences between your two parties, you always admired him and feel his loss as deeply as I.’
Harlow G. Unger, Lafayette
I’m going to go out on a limb and say Lafayette was probably never aware of half the terrible things Jefferson wrote about his friends (especially Washington). I’m not going to lie, though, I would have loved to see Jefferson’s response to this.
